If you're new to the social marketing industry, or have stalled out in your lead generating efforts, getting new prospect leads is vital to keep your business prospering.
You cannot most likely expect to pitch to everybody. If you do, you'll find you don't have many people and people just plain avoid you!

They are great places for finding prospect leads. You can join networking groups and share leads with others in related companies.
As an example if you sell computer hardware, hook up with others who sells PC software, but always make sure it is not an one-sided affair with you getting all the best leads, you should usually try to provide incentives for those give you leads.
Trade shows are good places to find prospect leads but trade shows can cost a lot of time and cash. You will definitely need an assistant to help.
Trade shows are attended by your target audience so win them over with your personality! Attraction selling rules in these scenarios so don't stand around looking bored or spend all of the time on your laptop computer!
Once you've identified potential prospects, you have to gather as much intelligence on them as you can . Learn about their business, and what they do. Knowledge is power!
Pitching too soon can be premature. They have already expressed interest in your product or services so learn about them so you can determine for yourself if they are a good fit for your team or to be a customer.
The worst thing is to bring someone on your team who does not have the same desire or work ethics as yourself. Take your time and qualified all your potential prospects. Remember you are growing a successful business.
